A Roman Catholic priest in Indonesia's Bali island has praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman as the "true face of peaceful Islam". Pastor Evensius Dewantara Boli Daton was among six interfaith leaders who greeted King Salman at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali on Saturday. The brief conversation between the pastor, who is familiarly called Venus Dewantara, and King Salman was in fluent Arabic. Indonesia's Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, who also welcomed the King, said that Venus Dewantara studied Arabic in Cairo, Egypt. "His Arabic language is very eloquent," said Arief. Father Venus Dewantara, said: "King Salman came along accompanied by the serenity of Islam and leads by example to tackle religious turmoil we are witnessing in this country. Let's look at this King who is embracing all other religions." "As a result of this visit, we hope to build good relations based on mutual trust between each other and maintain solidarity which is the base of unity," he added. Dewantara said: "We have to maintain and stand up for that Islam came as a mercy to the world." King Salman is back in Indonesia for a visit to the island of Bali after spending time in Brunei and Malaysia over the past week. He is due to visit Japan, China, the Maldives and Jordan next.
