Teenage Alexander Zverev beat two-time defending champion Richard Gasquet 7-6 (4), 6-3 to win the Open Sud de France on Sunday and clinch his second career title. The 19-year-old German's other title came in September when he beat three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka to win the St. Petersburg Open in Russia. This time, he denied Gasquet a 15th career title. Zverev broke the Frenchman's serve once in each set with the decisive break in the eighth game of the second set, before serving out the match. "It was a very tough tournament, only one straight-sets match in the whole tournament and it was not an easy one," Zverev said. The fourth-seeded Zverev was solid against the third-seeded Gasquet, winning 80 percent of his points on first serve and hitting eight aces. The 30-year-old Gasquet appeared in his fifth straight final here, having won in 2013 and finishing runner-up the following year. "He broke me quickly at the beginning of the match. I managed to come back, but he broke me again," Gasquet said. "He hits the ball really hard on both sides and has a pretty incredible service. He deserves his victory." Zverev, the younger brother of tennis player Mischa Zverev, is considered one of the rising stars of the game and recently took 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal to five sets in the third round of the Australian Open. He still had enough energy left to join his brother for the doubles final, beating Fabrice Martin and Daniel Nestor 6-4, 6-7 (3), 10-7. "It was a very successful tournament for the Zverevs," Alexander Zverev said. "We only dropped one set." Estrella celebrates three in a row in Quito Dominica's Victor Estrella, 36, won his third successive Quito ATP title on Sunday with a 6-7 (2/7), 7-5, 7-6 (8/6) victory over 35-year-old Paolo Lorenzi of Italy. Estrella, ranked 156 in the world, needed more than two and a half hours to defeat world 46 Lorenzi. The Ecuador tournament has given Estrella all three of his career titles. "It's a great achievement for me to win three titles here. The recipe for my success here will be revealed when I retire. I'll play in Quito every year until I retire," said Estrella who saved a match point in the final set tiebreak. "Without any doubt, this final has been the toughest. Paolo doesn't give away anything because he is a great fighter." Dimitrov wins second title in 2017 In Sofia, Grigor Dimitrov won his second title of 2017 on Sunday with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Belgium's David Goffin in the final of his homeground Sofia tournament. His win took his record for the year to 14-1 with his only defeat coming in the Australian Open semifinals when he lost in five sets to Rafael Nadal. Dimitrov, who went through 2015 and 2016 without a title, didn't drop a set all week in the Bulgarian capital and will move to 12 in the world rankings on Monday. "This is my most prestigious title. Winning it at home is a tremendous success for me. I will treasure this title for the rest of my life," said Dimitrov who now has six career titles and was champion in Brisbane last month. "It's something amazing for me. The crowd has been absolutely magnificent throughout the week. I'm more than thankful for their support."
