Fabricated stories to support the fake titles!Have you ever wondered why in our part of the world the miracle saints are seen on roads wearing dirty dresses, some are deaf and blind, chanting strange slogans of polytheistic messages such as “Oh Ali, Help us”; “O Abdul Qadir Jilani, help us”. But, you will never see them in mosques and these people are considered friends of Allah (Awaliya'a) as they have been given secret power by their head. According to a verdict on the Portal of the Kingdom's General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, it is forbidden to believe that an absent person, who cannot hear, has secret powers and so can hear you. The verdict continues to say that the sufis are groups of people who are known for their innovating methods of worship that are not ordained by Allah such as prayers, Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and devotional retreats. This is the way Sufis worship, a way which has not been prescribed by the Shariah (Islamic law), hence most forms of worship practiced by Sufis is Bidah (innovation). I remember when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 and NATO forces acted for the freedom of Kuwaiti people – that was the time when lot of people expected the Gouth or the Abdal to appear and protect their home. But, alas, no such beings came! Following are some fabricated stories on how they are given fake titles and how they are appointed - A fake story tells us that when Allah wants to choose a friend for Himself and to appoint him to run His system, He sends the person to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). When the chosen one goes to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he says, “take him to my son Abdul Qadir Jelani.” He will interview him and will assign him tasks as per his abilities. Sheikh Jilani then selects the candidate and confirmation is sent to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Later, the candidate gets certified by the Prophet (peace be upon him) and is given suitable position to run the system. In another baseless story, in the twelfth century there was once a pious saint in Baghdad who was famous in Islamic world and all the other saints accepted him as their spiritual leader and bowed before him. His name was Sheikh ‘Abd al Qadir al Jilani and he was known as Ghouth Al-Azam (the Greatest Helper) and the Qutb al Aqtâb (the Pole of the spiritual Poles' i.e. he who is at the apex of the spiritual hierarchy of saints). One night, a notorious thief entered the house of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani. However, the Sheikh's servant was awake and he captured the man. The thief was terrified of what would become of him for trying to rob the house of such a pious and respected saint of Allah and asked for forgiveness. The servant was very angry and held him tightly. Hearing the commotion, the Sheikh – who was in his little room engaged in his nightly vigils and worship came and asked what the matter was? The servant explained what had happened, the Sheikh then went to the thief and said, “Young man! You have come to the house of ‘Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani to steal something. If you go away with nothing people will think that you returned from my house empty-handed. It has been revealed to me by Allah that one of the poles (Qutub) has just passed away. Go! I make you into a Pole so that you may replace him who has passed away! Thus, the thief entered the house of the Sheikh as a robber and left his house as a chief saint! (Sirat-e-Gouth Thaqlain – Ref. Shareat o Tariqat by Abdur Rehman Kelani Pg. 172) In another fabricated story, an Abdal expired in Syria and Jilani suddenly went there. All important sufi position holders gathered including Khidr (may Allah have mercy on him) to attend the funeral prayer of the expired Abdal. Abdul Qadir Jilani asked Khidr to go to Qustuntunya (Istambul) immediately and bring such and such disbeliever. Khidr immediately presented the disbeliever and Sheikh Jilani asked him to become a Muslim. The disbeliever was then appointed as the Abdal to replace the deceasedone. And, everyone welcomed him with honor. These stories are fake and fabricated and they have nothing to do with Islam. However, the Sufi world is bent on believing that Khidr (may Allah have mercy on him) is there to assist the Gouth. For them he is still alive for thousands of years and will exist too, to provide his esteemed services. They don't even acknowledge the fact that Khidr (may Allah have mercy on him) is a pious person mentioned in the Qur'an. Allah, the Almighty had asked Prophet Musa to learn from him, and Sufism has portrayed him into an immortal character, who follows the instructions of the Gouth. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz was asked about Khidr. He said, “he died of course.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Have you seen this night of yours? At the end of one hundred years after this none would survive on the surface of the earth.” (Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmed) Thus, Khidr is dead and all the claims about his existence are false.
