Nineteen planes full of Umrah pilgrims touched down at King Abdul Aziz International Airport (KAAIA) here, Tuesday. The flights carried 4,700 pilgrims from Turkey, Algeria, Iran and other Muslim countries. The General Authority of Civil Aviation said that KAAIA has mobilized all its resources to welcome and facilitate Umrah pilgrims in completing their rituals. Abdul Hameed Hamad Aba Al-Ari, KAAIA Director, also revealed that the airport has designed a complete plan for the arrival and departure of Umrah pilgrims through the 14 lounges of Haj and Umrah. Eight of these are for arrivals, five for departures and one has been designated for different purposes and emergency cases. “The new plan is flexible and will respond perfectly to the increasing number of flights,” Aba Al-Ari said.
