Published in The Saudi Gazette on 25 - 01 - 2017

Patrick Marleau scored four goals in the third period, Brent Burns had a goal and two assists, and the San Jose Sharks beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 Monday night.
Marleau snapped a tie with the first of his three straight goals in the third period and notch his fifth career hat trick. It was the first multi-goal performance of the season for Marleau, who added another at 16:23 for the first four-goal game of his career.
Martin Jones had 26 saves and Logan Couture and Marc-Eduoard Vlasic had two assists apiece to lead the Sharks (30-16-2) to their fifth straight win.
Nikita Zadorov had a goal and an assist and Jarome Iginla also scored for Colorado. Spencer Martin stopped 21 shots for the Avalanche, who are 1-13-1 in their last 15 home games.
Capitals 6, Hurricanes 1: Dmitry Orlov scored twice, Braden Holtby made 25 saves and Washington defeated Carolina at Verizon Center.
Washington, which increased its points streak to 14 consecutive games (12-0-2), got a goal and an assist apiece from Justin Williams and Evgeny Kuznetsov.
T.J. Oshie added his 18th of the season - giving him a goal in four straight games - and Lars Eller closed out the scoring. Andre Burakovsky had three assists and Karl Alzner added two.
Maple Leafs 4, Flames 0: Nazem Kadri scored two goals and Frederik Andersen stopped 26 shots to earn his second shutout of the season and eighth career as Toronto breezed to a victory over Calgary.
Mitch Marner and Zach Hyman also scored for the Maple Leafs (22-14-9), who had lost their two previous games. Marner added an assist and Nikita Zaitsev had two assists.
Brian Elliott made 24 saves for the Flames (24-23-3), who have lost three games in a row.
Rangers 3, Kings 2: Mats Zuccarello scored a back-breaking goal early in the third period to help New York to its third straight victory, a 3-2 triumph over Los Angeles at Madison Square Garden.
With the teams skating 4-on-4, Kings goaltender Jeff Zatkoff gave the puck away behind his net to the Rangers' J.T. Miller. Zuccarello took a pass from Miller and beat Zatkoff with a high shot to give New York a 3-1 lead.
The Kings have lost four straight games, all in regulation.
Ducks 3, Jets 2: Anaheim used suffocating physical play at both ends of the ice and some timely efforts from its special teams to beat Winnipeg at the MTS Centre.
Ryan Getzlaf, who earlier had an assist, scored what proved to be the winning goal on the power play at 8:48 of the third period. He deflected a point shot past Winnipeg goalie Ondrej Pavelec.
Logan Shaw and Rickard Rakell also scored for Anaheim, while Andrew Copp and Nik Ehlers had the goals for the Jets.
Coyotes 3, Panthers 2 (OT): Tobias Rieder buried a feed from Alex Burmistrov 48 seconds into overtime and Arizona won its second straight game with a victory over Florida at Gila River Arena.
Arizona, which also received goals from rookie Christian Fischer and Ryan White, recorded a season-high 42 shots on goal. The Coyotes have won four of their past five home games.
