DONALD Trump became the president of the United States and took the constitutional oath to begin his reign in the White House, thus ending the shock, denial and the censure of the voters on his election which is now a fait accompli. Trump delivered a "very aggressive" inaugural speech, outlining the broader contours of his policies and how he will restore the judgment of the people by ensuring that Washington will be the property of the American people after the years of domination by the political elite. He asserted his "America first" policy, meaning all his policies will be based on that principle. He stressed that his policies for migrants and refugees who violate the law will be severe, serious and immediate. He vowed to launch a merciless war on the "radical Islamic terrorism" to eradicate it completely from the face of the earth. His speech was strong even for his opponents. He blamed his predecessors (both Republicans and Democrats) for the deteriorating economic situations and the growing crimes and drugs in the country. As far as the foreign policy is concerned, Trump explained that he would reconsider America's relations with the world and that it would not allow US companies that manufacture outside without shouldering their responsibility at home. He outlined that America's relations with the global world will be reevaluated according to the needs of America and will not allow other countries to benefit in absence of US' gains. US allies as well as its detractors anxiously wait for the first hundred days of Trump's presidency to determine the direction his decisions and policies. Iran is also looking forward to Trump's policies as to whether he will continue the talks on the nuclear deal and how will its relationship with the US play out after an important period that enabled Iran to expand its influence in the region. China is another state that will monitor Trump's policies closely. It seems that he is not in favor of "One China" policy as he has flirted with Taiwan openly, which is a sort of exerting pressure on China in one way or the other. But the most important issue is the fear of declaration of a full trade war against China, forcing the latter to reconsider devaluation of its currency in real terms of commercial value and not in a cosmetic manner and face the terms of real pricing of goods in line with specifications and global standards which China has always managed to dodge. Europe will watch with great interest the position of Trump vis-à-vis the NATO and the extent of its readiness to continue "unlimited" and absolute commitment as it was before his arrival because Trump is a man who intends to "calculate" potential benefits for each relationship by "investing" in them. The region of Middle East is expected to witness a sea of change in relations with the new US administration. After Obama's venture with "political Islam" and his uncalculated adventure that left destruction in the Middle East, Trump intends to fight against terrorism and all its causes. He will cooperate with the pivotal and stable states, like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and also Jordan. Certainly, extremist rhetoric will face a serious adversary. Trump will heavily invest in military infrastructure and weapons and apply policies to seriously confront the terrorists. Trump arrived to the presidency with a political controversy and a low popular support, which was all the more challenging. But the man comes to his position with nothing to lose. He has achieved all the dreams of his life and succeeded in all his missions. He wants to leave a personal legacy in the American presidency, even if he happens to be controversial for his ties with America's worst enemy Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, to achieve his objectives and goals.
