Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Aziz Aal Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Dawah and Guidance and General Supervisor of King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an, has given the go-ahead for the production of an electronic Holy Qur'an reader. The project will be implemented in cooperation with the Department of Computers at the King Fahd Complex. The product will be similar to the normal size of the Holy Qur'an and will have recitations by different reciters, in addition to a Braille copy for the visually-impaired. Dr. Muhammad Salem Al-Awfi, Secretary General of King Fahd Complex, said the Qur'an reader will have interactive software for children, adults, the elderly, the physically-challenged and the visually-impaired, to learn the correct way to read the Holy Qur'an. “The device also provides sound and text translations of the Holy Qur'an for non-native speakers of Arabic and helps them to memorize the Holy Qur'an. There's also an interpretation of the Holy Qur'an and recitation rules. The software is still being developed.”
