Technical college graduates in the region have been urged to enroll in English language courses run by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), to help improve their job prospects. Samer Abdulkareem Fatani, director of the English language program in Jeddah, said students should register no later than Feb. 18 for the 21-week program. Fatani said graduates with English are needed by the labor market, adding that these students will find it easier to secure jobs. Trainees will get monthly remuneration of SR1,000 at a rate of 30 hours per week, for an overall total of 630 hours. Fatani said all trainees should be Saudi nationals. They should have a record of good conduct and a diploma from a technical college. In addition, they should not have graduated more than three years ago. Students who complete the English course will be considered favorably when applying for the King Abdullah Foreign Scholarship Program and for jobs as technical trainers. The program will be held at the First Industrial Institute in Jeddah. The training starts on March 10 and ends on Aug. 1. __
