Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has directed the Passports Department to take relevant procedures to correct the status of Yemeni expatriates in the Kingdom (holders of visitor ID). Accordingly, the Passports Department would from Sunday (Dec. 18) start to extend the said cards for Yemeni expatriates for a period of another six months. The directive to that effect also came from Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior. In a statement, the Passports Department has stressed that all arrangements have been made for the online extension of the cards. The directorate said there was no need for Yemenis to visit the Passports Department offices personally to extend their ID cards. Instead, they can do it from the Absher service of the Interior Ministry's portal (www.moi.gov.sa) after making online payment of SR100. The user must log in to his personal account on Absher and type ‘visitor identity.' The card will be printed and delivered to the concerned user through Saudi Post's Wasel service. In the case of those who have no postal address and have not registered their address on Wasel, a link will appear for them to register their address on Absher to receive the card, the department said.
