Abdul Aziz Rabie Abdulaziz, a researcher, said online employment is now a reliable and essential tool for both employees and employers. "There has been a radical shift in the methods companies use to process employment, thanks to the value, efficiency and ease of using online recruitment sites. The Internet has become an accessory at all levels of life, melting geographical boundaries when it comes to talent and professions," Abdulaziz said. Online recruitment consumes less time, allows for instant communication around the clock and reduces employment costs. It provides access to a greater number of business owners, compared to traditional recruitment methods. Electronic hiring processes now enable companies and workers to reach the right candidate quickly. Those looking for work can maintain a distinctive curriculum vitae on line for future applications. According to Minister of Labor and Social Development Mufrej Al-Haqbani, more than 1.2 million people have registered on the national employment portal, Taqat, which includes 90,000 job titles, representing 583,000 job opportunities. He stressed that these opportunities are not all suitable for Saudis, but that Taqat is available to all looking for work, even government employees looking to improve their income. The Human Resources Development Fund program (HADAF) is now using online recruitment exhibitions to help the private sector find qualified Saudis across various industries and assist job seekers in finding appropriate employment. One such fair kicks off next week.
