Under the Patronage of Prince Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Saud AlKabeer, Honorary President of the Saudi Heart Association, the 23rd Heart Conference opened in Riyadh Friday. Taibahu University President Dr. Mansour Al-Nozha patronized the opening ceremony. Dr. Al-Habib Khalid, President of Saudi Heart Association, in his address said: “The conference aims at developing educational thinking in the specialties of cardiology and cardiac surgery, in addition to facilitating the exchange of scientific expertise and ideas and gain access to the latest developments in the field of cardiac sciences and health.” He added that the most important thing in the conference are the national and regional statistical studies. Dr. Mansour Al- Nozha, President of Taibahu University and the founder of the Saudi Heart Association, said: “The conference provides an opportunity to see what all is new in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery as science and its application needs follow-up, update and continuity in the pursuit of all that is new so that we can offer the patient the highest level of service.” He said the Saudi Heart Association has succeeded building strong relationships with prestigious international scientific associations, such as American, Canadian and European Heart Associations. Dr. Khalid Bin Abdul Rahim Al-Fraidy, Director of Heart Center at King Fahd Military Medical Complex in Dhahran, received the Professor Muhammad Faqih Award for Scientific Research on the occasion. Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Faqih was honored for the Best Scientific Research. Dr. Al-Hersi Ahmed, Head of Cardiology Center at King Khalid University Hospital and Chairman of Award Trustees, said: “The significance of this award lies in its moral value.”
