DAMMAM — The International Indian School Dammam celebrated its 34th Foundation Day in presence of Indian Ambassador Ahmad Javed, who was the chief guest at the event. Addressing students, staff and parents of school children the Ambassador emphasized the need for more interaction and involvement from the parents with the school management in their effort to provide quality education to the students. He also insisted that the school and the management should see that the guidelines and the directives laid down by the host country should be followed in word and spirit. He praised the generosity and greatness of the leaders of this country and the people. He especially appreciated and congratulated the teachers, students and the parents and the management for the meritorious achievements of the school in both academics and extra- curricular activities during all these years. The Ambassador awarded special service awards to the senior teachers and the principal, who have rendered 25 years, 20 years and 10 years dedicated service respectively to the community school. Among them Mrs. Tasneem Muneer Ahmed, vice principal, Mrs. Sabina M Sajid, head mistress KG section, Mrs. Lissamma Antony and Mrs. Ruby Thomas dedicated their service to the school for the last 25 years. Seven senior teachers from various sections also received awards for rendering their relentless support and services to the school for the last 20 years. Thirty five teachers from different sections and the principal and head of the Institution, Dr. E.K. Mohammed Shaffe were awarded for completing 10 years in the school service. The Indian Ambassador also distributed special awards and scholarships to the students who were nominated as the Best Sport Persons of the year, and the principal's award for the best outgoing student of the year. Ambassador Javed also released the Bye-Laws of the Alumni Association of International Indian School Dammam. In the celebration of 34th Foundation Day the Ambassador and school staff and students were also joined by the wife of the Ambassador, Mrs. Shabnam Javed, Dr Hifzur Rahman, the second secretary and the observer of Indian schools in the Kingdom, John Thomas, Higher Board Member, Dr. Ahmed A Al-Ali, former Director of Health Dept Eastern Province, the school Managing Committee Chairman Mohammad Abdul Waris, and the current managing committee members. Waris. while welcoming the ambassador, parents, guests and students, assured his committee's whole-hearted dedication for the continuous advancement of the school. The school Principal Shaffe presented an impressive analysis of the academic performance of students, scholastic and non scholastic achievements during the year 2016. Dr Ahmed A Ali, former Director of Health Department in the Eastern Province and the present CEO of Al-Enya health services, highlighted his association with the Indian community in the Kingdom. He specifically underlined the effort of the Indian expatriate community, who played a pivotal role in building this country. He emphasized the greatness of Indian culture, Indian food, people, educators, doctors and nurses, who supported this country with dedication and sincerity. The budding artistes of the school from various sections presented colorful and melodious entertainment programs which included musical dramas, plays, dances and orchestras etc. The vice-principal Mrs. Dhanalaxmi Ramanujam proposed the vote of thanks. The compeering group was guided by Mrs. Merajunnisa Hasan and included Ms. Rita Ibrahim and Ms Sneha Mary Shiny.
