JDC Legend enters semis

JEDDAH — JDC Legend of coach Abdulaziz Yu defeated Khalidia Balik Islam 94-89 to move into the Inter-Dawah semi-finals of the Seiko Watch-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Khalidia basketball court here recently.
The winner played man-to-man defense to upset the loser's offense in the crucial seconds of the game. Jaber Gonzales top scored with 35 points for the winner and was adjudged the Seiko Watch Best Player of the Game.
This tournament is principally sponsored by Seiko Watch of Al-Hussaini & Al-Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al-Hussaini). The co-sponsors are Nesma Airlines (Faisal Al-Turki), Rabea Tea, Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah), New Cabalen Restaurant (Japh Villanueva) and Ric Printing.
Khalidia 40's of coach Gary Arozo beat Lions 108-87. Sidad made 22 points for the winner and was named the New Cabalen Restaurant Best Player, while Umlas chipped in with 32 points for the Lions.
ICHTHUS of playing coach Nap Solis scored over Tetra Pak 107-81. The winner applied run and gun offense throughout. Carbonel led the winner with 25 points and was selected as the Giordano Best Player. Laput poured in 26 points for the loser.
Wasalak 40's of coach Fred Conception defeated Eagles 95-81. The winner showed good teamwork in the final quarter. Aquino scored 23 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Best Player. Donald Dolloso collected 33 points for the loser.
KD Tambayz of coach Gerry Acosta beat Pazadaure 103-97 on Thuirsday. Tapdasan and Pogoy contributed 26 points apiece for the winner and were named the Seiko Watch Best Players. Tubid top scored with 23 points for the loser.
BHBC of Popoy Lampa defeated R Printing 86-71. Val Atienza dominated the shaded area and scored 22 points for the winner to grab the JBL Best Player award. Caberte led the loser with 19 points, followed by Ric Santos (18).
