New Cadillac ATS gets more dynamic
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 10 - 2016

CADILLAC's ATS product line contains key refinements for 2017, including new and more streamlined trim levels that further emphasize the car's class-leading driving dynamics.
Commenting on the updates, Nadim Ghrayeb, Cadillac Middle East Sales and Marketing Manager, said "the ATS has been and continues to be a pivotal model for Cadillac. The changes that we bring to the ATS line-up this year strengthen the ATS' competitive edge in our market with a wider choice of fun to drive yet efficient powertrains, and a more streamlined feature-set that tailors to the individual character of each of the ATS' clientele."
The 2017 Cadillac ATS Sedan 2.0T, the fastest, most powerful turbo-4 luxury sedan in its class, adds a new powerful yet economic engine to the existing family of engines on the ATS sedan offerings.
Two exterior colors and 17" wheels in two finishes are also new for 2017, complementing the bold, unmistakably Cadillac signature exterior and interior design.
The Cadillac ATS product line is Cadillac's most compact and sporty entry, setting into motion the current era of Cadillac's driver's cars offering exhilarating performance.
Originally introduced as a 2013 model, ATS is built on a unique rear-wheel drive chassis that also underpins the larger CTS, the brand added a dynamic Coupe model in 2015, and then added the high-performance V-Series models in 2016.
2017 model year ATS Sedan and Coupe will arrive in regional showrooms in October 2016. The sedan variant MSRP for ATS Sedan 2.5 is $35,054, and the Coupe variant MSRP for ATS Coupe Premium Luxury 3.6 has been updated to $47,735.
Renamed for better customer clarity, the new trim levels – ATS, Premium Luxury and Premium Performance – provide richer levels of content and technology and move the Cadillac ATS in line with recently launched Cadillac entries, including the all-new Cadillac CT6 prestige sedan and all-new Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover. The configuration enhancements benefit both Sedan and Coupe models.
The 2017 Cadillac ATS Sedan 2.0T, the new addition to the ATS line-up in the region is powered by the most powerful turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the compact luxury class. SAE-certified at 272 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque (400 Nm), the turbocharged engine produces a broad torque band and high boost levels to give the lightweight ATS Turbo an exhilarating feeling of immediate power on demand. The engine, complements existing ATS 2.5L 4-cyl and 3.6L V6 offerings from 2017.
ATS' driver-focused interior with integrated technology and crafted materials complements the exterior elements and supports the Cadillac ATS sedan 2.0T's driving experience. Standard performance equipment includes Brembo front brakes, performance-tuned ZF premium steering and paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmissions.
The Cadillac ATS Sedan 2.0T is one of the most connected cars in the segment. Bose Premium Surround Sound audio system, Rear Vision Camera, and the enhanced Cadillac CUE infotainment system with Apple CarPlay [and Android Auto- ready] advanced smartphone integration.
The 2.0L Turbocharged ATS Sedan will be available in two trims, ATS Sedan 2.0T, and ATS Sedan Premium Luxury 2.0T, the former offers all the above with leatherette seats, while the latter offers standard aniline leather seating surfaces with heated and cooled, 10-way power front seats with lumbar support which show off Cadillac's handcrafted cut-and-sew application.
