Saudi Gazette The mayoralty of Al-Ahsa celebrated the academic excellence and outstanding school performance of 180 orphans in the region; both boys and girls. For their fruitful accomplishments achieved in the first semester, a party was organized for these students at an amusement park in Al-Ahsa. The media and public relations director of the mayoralty, Badr Bin Fahd Al-Shehab, attended the party to personally congratulate the children and be a part of their success and happiness. “This event was organized by the mayoralty to honor the children who were distinguished for their success at school. It is our responsibility to support the orphans living in our community, help them build for themselves a promising future, stand behind them, and create a young generation who have strong ties with the nation,” said Al-Shehab. This type of positive reinforcement by the mayoralty is intended to motivate and encourage the orphan students to study hard, seek knowledge and try to enroll themselves in a university in the near future. Al-Shehab stressed that the orphans in Al-Ahsa are an important segment of their society and the mayoralty is keen on meeting their health, social, and educational needs. The celebratory party was full of fun for the young children for they received awards, certificates and valuable gifts. And after playing on the rides the children helped themselves to a simple yet delicious dinner. __
