The Urdu Department of grades six to eight of International Indian School, Jeddah (boys' section) organized a ‘Bazme Urdu' program on Dec. 27, 2011. The program represented a pot -pourri of Naat, Ghazal and other literary spectacles. The function began with the recitation from the Qur'an and was then proceeded by young eloquent poets who were equally divided in each event. The melodious recital of all the classes were highly applauded by everyone. The first prize was given to Syed Faizan Masood of grade eight and the second prize was bagged by Mirza Aslam Baig. In Naat competition, the first prize was given to Saud Iqbal of grade seven and the second prize was given to Ausaf Mohammad Asif. After the competition “baitbaazi” was also witnessed by the audience. There were three teams - Team Mir, Team Ghalib and Team Iqbal - with 12 participants in each team. The competition was intense as each team was well versed with their subject. The audience was impressed by the mind blowing performances of the team. Team Mir emerged as the winner whereas Team Iqbal and Team Ghalib were placed as the second and third runners
