Energetic and enthusiastic sports day Al-Falah International School, DPS Jeddah held its annual sports day recently. The students participated in various gaming events with keen interest and passion. Shakeel Ahmad, Consul Culture and Commercial, CGI Jeddah was the guest of honor and the meet was attended by the members of Parent Advisory Council. “The importance of sports in the life of a young student is invaluable as sports instill lessons that are essential in the life of a student,” Shakeel Ahmad said. “The only thing that can rescue the mankind from the ills that it is confronted with, is the spirit of fair-play because it instills in us a sense of belonging to the world whose inherent feature is the diversity.” Students who were grouped in four houses—red, blue, green and yellow, participated in football, basketball, throwball, table-tennis, volleyball, and a number of other games. Zia Nadwi, director of the school, said that sports constitutes a vital component of our curriculum. “Sports teach us to honor the differences, appreciate the talent in our adversaries and help build in us a person who is tolerant yet brave.” Basim Nadwi, Managing Director of the school distributed medals to the winning teams. __
