Many visitors to Asir expressed admiration for development in the region in all areas over the past years through a number of large infrastructure projects. The visitors cited four main reasons for them visiting the region: the availability of services in tourist sites, the mild weather, beautiful nature and the diversity of recreational and tourism activities, according to Al-Madina newspaper. Al-Madina spoke with a number of tourists and vacationers from inside and outside the Kingdom as they were visiting different parks in the region. Mohamed Hassanein, a resident of Bahrain, said he came to Asir when he heard about the nature and spectacular parks, in addition to the beautiful weather in the summer. "I came driving with my family via the King Fahd Causeway. We were amazed at the beauty of Suda park. All services for tourists and visitors were amazing too," he said. While staying in Abha, Hassanein attended a number of events such as the Alasirah village, which he described as extremely beautiful. "We experienced different events daily, and learned about the history of the region and its customs, traditions and folk dances. It was an amazing experience," he added. Aladdin from East Asia said he visited Asir and enjoyed the rain. "We are enjoying the weather and we will spend three days in Abha and then go back to Jeddah," he added. Dr. Yahya al-Zubaidi, a faculty member at King Abdulaziz University, said, "I was surprised at the great development in Asir since our last visit five years ago. During these years the region has evolved dramatically. I'm impressed and this shows the great work done by officials in Asir and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage," he said.
