TRAIN the trainers' seminar, which was sponsored by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), came to a conclusion in the presence of the Assistant to GACA President for Central Services, Naim Shibanna. Eleven trainers representing a variety of specialized academic centers attended the regional excellence program. For his part, the president of the academy, Fahad Alharbi pointed out that the existing partnership between the academy and the ICAO is one of the most important partnership that are in line with the vision and directions of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and to enhance the academic efforts towards the provision of quality services in the training field. He added that, "Training the trainers" seminar represents the second part of the accession of the academy as a regional hub franchise program, this occurred after the "training the trainers online" which represented the first part of the program. He went on to say that the academy trainers were able to successfully pass both seminars. He noted that the importance of these courses and their role in supporting the academic stature to become an internationally certified regional center and this is one of the strategic goals that the academy is close to achieving. This will contribute directly to support its students, which will provide the Kingdom's airport with qualified workforce in air traffic control disciplines — maintenance of aviation systems — fire and rescue — safety and operation of airport and aviation security. The president of the academy went on to say that the solid cooperation with International organization is continuing and has helped in qualifying six senior trainers in the academy in an effort to support our outgoing student and maintain the high quality of training that the academy aspire. He valued the support that the academy is getting from the assistant to GACA President for Central Services and the rest of GACA's top executives.
