Over 2,146 Saudization violations have been registered so far in the telecommunications sector Kingdomwide with the Eastern Province being the highest at 615 violations, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development announced. Inspectors began paying visits to cell phone shops in the beginning of Ramadan, shut down 1,170 shops and gave warnings to 537 shops. Because of the intensive inspection campaign, over 11,106 shops all over the country have Saudized jobs, with the Eastern Province being the highest at 3,036 shops followed by Riyadh at 1,741 shops. In the Eastern Province alone, inspectors paid visits to 3,441 shops while in Riyadh the number of shops reached 2,017. In Al-Qassim and Makkah, it was 1,450 and 1,443 shops respectively whereas in Asir and Madinah the numbers were 1,237 and 953 shops. Al-Jouf was the region with the lowest number of cell phone shops at 186. The Ministry of Labor and Social Development urged the public to report Saudization violations at the website rasd.ma3an.gov.sa. Once a report has been made, inspectors will be dispatched to verify them and take proper action, the announcement said, which also stressed that the ministry will work constantly to improve and regulate the labor market.
