RIYADH — The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has called upon citizens and residents to report violations relating to the Saudization of the telecom sector via the Rasd ma3an service (rasd.ma3an.gov.sa). It said all reports would be dealt with promptly. The urgent call came amid the ongoing inspection campaigns to enforce 50 percent nationalization in the telecom sector by the end of this month. The ministry is expected to implement full replacement of expatriates with Saudi nationals starting from September 2 (Dhul Hijjah 1). A clampdown on shops selling mobile phones and accessories found a number of violations including illegal workers, cover-up cases and non-compliance to residence and labor regulations. According to the Saudization decision, the ministry is seeking to employ Saudi males and females in the telecom sector as salespersons and maintenance professionals.
