Abu Dhabi Duty Free's summer shopping experience
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 07 - 2016

Abu Dhabi Duty Free is providing passengers with a fantastic shopping experience this summer season with an unprecedented number of promotions, retail exclusives and culinary treats.
Offers include ‘spend & win' promotions across all shops throughout the airport, with cash vouchers being given away. Sharaf DG and Pure Gold are also introducing special products and deals for the summer months.
In addition to the existing international range available at AUH, the creative beauty brand Benefit Cosmetics has launched its pop-up store at Abu Dhabi Duty Free. Anyone making a purchase at Duty Free will be offered a special gift such as free engraving of perfume bottles.
Abu Dhabi Duty Free has also launched its website, www.ADDF.ae, to enable travelers to browse and shop online from where ever they are, prior to their arrival at the airport. The online store, which initially offers around 1,000 of the most popular products varying from beauty, fragrances, food and confectionary, to jewelry, sunglasses, watches, souvenirs, and toys, will allow passengers to select their desired items online and pick them up from designated collection points conveniently located inside Abu Dhabi Duty Free. Products are available for guests departing, arriving, or transiting through the airport, and those who are using the exclusive VIP terminal.
Online orders can be made between two weeks and up to four hours before a flight. By using the website passengers will be able to shop efficiently and spend more time enjoying the other facilities on offer at the airport. Abu Dhabi Duty Free is offering a 5% discount on all online orders for first time users.
Travelers who want to stock up on some traditional goods before flying home can visit the new "Souk" area in Terminal 3, which sells a range of local handicrafts and edible treats. During the summer season, passengers will be able to experience some Arabian entertainment with oud players, henna artists and sougha weavers demonstrating their talents.
Alongside the quality F&B offerings already available to passengers, AUH recently added the British chains Costa Coffee and Camden food Co. to Terminal 3, and the home-grown ‘grab-and-go' franchise Prêt To Go to Terminal 1. With passengers able to choose from a range of food and drink from handcrafted coffees to healthy salads, the growing F&B repertoire at AUH is set to keep passengers happy throughout the busy summer months.
There's also good news for sports fans this peak season with lounges and F&B outlets across both terminals set to screen the 2016 Summer Olympics live from Rio de Janeiro.
"Our aim is to elevate the airport experience to the next level by offering our guests irresistible shopping deals and delectable F&B options. We have a large passenger demographic and we take special care to ensure that everyone's preferences and tastes are accommodated to the highest of standards," said Daniel Cappell, Acting CCO of Abu Dhabi Airports. — SG
