Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies (AP), recently received the prestigious "Donor of the Year" award for his significant philanthropic efforts around the world. Princess Lamia Bint Majed received the award on behalf of Prince Alwaleed during the Global Donors Forum in Istanbul last month recognizing his philanthropic and charitable contributions realized through Alwaleed Philanthropies. With the vision of healing divisions and shaping a more compassionate and tolerant world, the foundation has initiated and supported thousands of projects globally. Over the years, Alwaleed Philanthropies has grown into a key player in the philanthropic arena, working with a range of philanthropic, government and educational organizations, both big and small. Following the Prince's announcement last year that he intends to pledge all his wealth to philanthropic causes, the foundation's work continues to expand and develop.
