The security spokesman of the Interior Ministry has said that fundraising without obtaining a permit from the competent authorities is a violation of the Kingdom's regulations. In a statement to Saudi Press agency (SPA), the spokesman added that any person and entity (institutions and companies) will be subject to interrogation in case of fundraising without permit. The Ministry of Interior warned citizens and expatriates against carrying out campaigns to collect donations. It called on them to give their donations directly to the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid and the Saudi National Campaign to Support Brothers in Syria or national charities authorized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Endowments and the Ministry of Labor and National Development. The Interior Ministry security spokesman stressed that anyone who calls for or collects donations without a license will be arrested and subjected to the laws in force in the Kingdom. Furthermore, bank accounts for collecting donations announced on social media and SMS messages will be frozen. Expatriates will be deported after implementation of the penalties issued against them in accordance with the regulations.
