PISJ-ES holds impressive graduation ceremony

JEDDAH — Pakistan International School Jeddah-English Section (PISJ-ES), one of the best institutions in the Middle East, held an impressive graduation ceremony for its outgoing 2016 batch (Y13 students) at the school's Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Auditorium on Sunday.
Chief guest Pakistan Consul General Shehryar Akber Khan and his wife Sonia Shehryar were at the occasion.
Other dignitaries included Sarwer Saeed, deputy consul general, and link officer, Mrs. Amna Sarwer, wife of Sarwer Saeed, Adnan Nasir, principal, Imtiaz Taj, vice principal, Akhtar Quraishi, chairman SMC, Dr. Touqir Ahmed Malik, vice chairman, Kamran Butt, member SMC, and others.
Former principal and PPP Senator from Sind Sehar Karman also attended the function.
Speaking to the Saudi Gazette on the occasion, she expressed her profound greetings and best wishes to the graduates of 2016. She said the pleasure of seeing children graduating is great. "Today I am here only to attend the graduation ceremony. I wish all success of this institution and its future goals."
Principal Nasir welcomed all the guests, SMC members, parents, faculty members and students, who were dressed in the graduating ceremonial gowns.
He said: "On this special day I advise you to never forget that success is a voyage and not a destination. Consider every kind of your achievement another important step on the journey towards the acme of a contented life."
Nasir extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, award winning students and the staff members for joining the graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the students and wishing them good luck in their future endeavors.
He also thanked all teachers, deputy heads, coordinators, administration and supporting staff for organizing such a meaningful and successful event.
Chief Guest Shehryar Akber briefly addressed the gathering. He said: "I am pleased to attend the graduation ceremony. You are our future, and we look up to you for leadership in the coming days and years."
He presented Cambridge Outstanding Learning Awards to Muhammed Sohaib Khalid and Aleiba Dahri. Sohaib also received school's lifetime achievement award.
Teacher's Awards were received by Ms. Qurat Ul Ain Imran (Science), Siddique Nawab (Science), Muhammed Ejaz (Math) and Muhammed Siddique (Commerce).
Sarwer Saeed, Mrs. Amana Sarwer and principal awarded the certificates of graduation and Akhtar Qureshi presented special awards and student of the year awards.
Umar Faisal, Hamza Khan, Irtiza Usman, Hassan Kamran and Omair Ahmed were the students, who received best Video Making Awards in the competition conducted by British Council titled "Your world" where students from 193 schools in 11 different countries were asked to make a short video to showcase theirs and their communities lives to the world.
Naeera Sajjad of Y13-5 and Qasim Noor enlightened all with beautiful songs.
Ms. Hiba Iftikhar and Ms. Hamna Hassan, girls from the graduating class Y13, shared the experiences that they gained from their time in school.
Earlier, the program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ahmed Hafiz and translation by Mohammed Irtiza Usman Khalid.
National anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were also sung.
Subhah Rehman, Khurram Ahmed, Amna Khalid and Hassan Shahzad were masters of ceremony. The program concluded with the graduation cake cutting ceremony.
