The King also toured the pavilions of the exhibition, organized on the sidelines of the celebrations, where he was briefed on the historical and modern images that speak about the march of the university ever since its foundation until to date as well as its future plans. During the function, King Salman inaugurated the third phase for the university's expansion projects and laid the foundation stone for a number of projects within the university's main campus and in its branches at a total cost of SR11.5 billion. The university awarded King Salman an honorary doctorate degree in the field of boosting Islamic unity. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Sultan Bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, Prince Mishal Bin Majed, governor of Jeddah, Ahmed Al-Essa, minister of education, and several other officials also attended the function.
