Muslims must guard against extremism and narrowmindedness, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, has said. In his Friday sermon, Al-Sudais also urged Muslims to obey the command of Almighty Allah in seclusion and in open. He urged Muslims to rely on Allah in all their affairs stressing that the creature's fate is in the hands of Allah alone. Objective and responsible media, he said, are the one which purify the souls and lift nations to the level of perfection. He also warned believers against extremism and exaggerating matters pointing out that Islam is a religion of moderation and flexibility, and therefore it ordains its followers to vigorously fight narrowmindedness and extremism. Sheik Hussein Aal Al-Sheikh, Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet's Mosque said one of the most important elements of life is security. “It (security) leads to stability and peace. It protects the nations from sedition and evils. Owing to this Islam forbids any act that affects people's security and peace,” he said. It is a great blessing from Almighty Allah, he said, pointing out that those who have experienced instability and chaos are in a better position to appreciate the value of security. He said Islam attaches great importance to security. “One of the many blessings bestowed by Allah on this country is the blessing of security because of the foundation of this country on the principle of supporting the belief of Salafist call.” Aal Al-Sheikh said Salafism is based on the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet's Sunnah and that explains the lofty place it has among the believers. He warned the youth against blindly following those elements who have no intention but to sow the seeds of disunity by adopting dubious methods such as dragging the youth to the abyss of drugs and evils to enslave them and use them as a toy to carry out their criminal and wicked plans.
