The ministries of labor and social development and commerce and investment have confirmed that an expatriate worker who reports a cover-up (tasattur) operation can transfer his services to another employer, provided he is not involved in the tassatur operation, Saudi Press Agency reported Sunday. This comes within the sphere of the keenness and cooperation of the two ministries to combat commercial cover-up (tasattur) and create a law-abiding commercial environment that is free from violations. This also comes within the endeavor to enable the citizens to practice trade in a vibrant and legal environment. The two ministries called on citizens and expatriates to cooperate with them to put a limit to tasattur. The public can report such operations by dialing the number 1900 allocated for receiving reports at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment or the call center telephone number 19911 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development. They also have the option to contact the two authorities through their accounts in the social media. The two authorities warned companies, establishments and individuals not to cooperate with violators of the investment or labor regulations in the Kingdom, as any violation will make them answerable to the law and penalties will be imposed on them. The penalties can reach naming and shaming, two years in jail, SR1 million fine for each violation and deportation from the Kingdom for expatriates.
