The New York-based International Advertising Association (IAA) has granted accreditation to academic programs at Jeddah College of Advertising (JCA), the college said in a press release. JCA's academic programs were individually assessed and scored through a rigorous, benchmarked IAA Education Council process. It is a validation for JCA that its program offerings are of internationally recognized quality content and teaching required by the global communications industry. All three JCA's programs, which include Bachelor of Advertising Creative Design, Bachelor of Advertising Management and Bachelor of Advertising Communication, are now fully accredited by worldwide industry body. "This means students who complete degree requirements at JCA will be conferred the IAA Diploma in Marketing Communications in addition to their degree certificate from the JCA. This is an internationally recognized certificate, which reflects that the student's undergraduate program meets IAA requirements," said the press release. In an official communication approving JCA's accreditation, Diane Slade, vice president of learning at IAA, conveyed that after due scrutiny the JCA is duly recognized by the IAA's International Board of Directors. "Each award (at JCA) presents a well-rounded and structured course program, integrating formal theory with industry linked practice. Precisely the format of modern tertiary learning that the IAA as a professional industry organization supports; we welcome Jeddah College of Advertising as an IAA Accredited Institution," said Slade. Dean of JCA Professor Munir Hasan Al-Sayed said: "IAA's accreditation has been a coveted certification for JCA since its inception in 2013. JCA strongly believes that international accreditation from IAA will add impetus in realizing the strategic vision of the college in positioning itself as a world- class institution." — SG
