Sony's new Xperia X stunningly intelligent
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 05 - 2016

order, the new Xperia X series delivers superior features with a fresh new look, improved camera technology, UX and smart battery management. The new X Series offers a range of choice and technologies for consumers wanting everything from the fastest intelligent camera (Xperia X) to a top-performing mid-range smartphone with stunning design and low-light selfie camera (Xperia XA).
"Smartphone users are demanding more from their smartphone cameras. Faster speed, less blur and better pictures in low-light are all areas in their requirement for improved technology. So, for the X series, every detail of how we use smartphone cameras has been researched and refined to ensure that each stage of its operation is executed in the fastest and most accurate way," said Tsutomu Sato, Director Product Marketing, Sony Mobile Communications.
The new Xperia X design takes smartphones beyond the limitations of screen size -Sony designers have packed the latest technology into a phone that fits perfectly in the hand, whilst still retaining an impressive 5" screen.
Research into how we use our phones has shown that most of the time, we either are on the move or hold the phone in just one hand. With this in mind, the new X Series has been skillfully crafted by Sony designers to fit beautifully in one's palm. Moreover, each device integrates a fresh look and feel with a continuous color surround, with a choice of four colors, including trending metallic hues: Lime Gold and Rose Gold, in addition to Graphite Black and White. A premium finish is a hallmark of the entire range, with the Xperia X standing out through its seamless metal back, and the Xperia XA through its borderless, edge-to-edge screen.
Sony's new ‘can't live without' intelligent smartphone, the Xperia X features Sony's unique camera technology, Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, which allows you to track an object, and then cleverly predicts its movement to give clear, blur-free shots. So, even if one can't predict where the shot is headed, the smartphone can. The 23MP rear camera not only gives clear shots, but also super-fast start-up, going from standby to capture in less than 0.6seconds at the touch of a button, ensuring one is ready to take the perfect shot whatever the situation. The front camera will capture fondest memories too in an amazing way, with 13MP and Sony's renowned low-light sensors (ISO6400), so selfies are sharp around the clock.
With a curved glass display that seamlessly meets its rounded frame, Xperia XA is as pleasing to the eye, as it is to the hand. It features a distinctive and beautifully integrated edge-to-edge display that stretches over the full width of the phone, to make full use of the 5" display.
Sony has also extended its quality camera performance to the mid-range Xperia XA, with its 13MP camera, hybrid autofocus and super-fast quick launch. All it takes, to capture the perfect moment, is less than 0.9seconds from launch to capture. One could blink and yet not miss the perfect shot. With roughly one hundred million selfies taken around the world every day, this is a camera that captures you in your best light – whatever the time of day. The Xperia XA has an 8MP front camera with low-light capability ensuring clear, sharp shots whatever the time of day.
The Xperia XA will supply up to two days battery3 power from a single charge, so one can listen to more music, talk for days and stay out longer without worry.
The Xperia X and Xperia XA will be available for SR2,099 and SR1,099 in mid-June 2016.
The Xperia X and Xperia XA each have a range of matching Style Covers in corresponding colors including Style Cover Touch which enable access to favorite smartphone widgets through a smart window without needing to open the case.
A SR200 and SR100 gift vouchers await those who make a preorder for Xperia X, and Xperia XA, respectively. — SG
