Adrian Gonzalez added a two-run single for the Dodgers, who won for the third time in their past 11 games Saturday. The Dodgers, losers in their two previous games, turned three double plays behind Kershaw as they ended a season-best four-game winning streak by the Blue Jays with a 6-2 win. Kershaw allowed eight hits, no walks and two runs. The left-hander struck out 10 to reach double digits in strikeouts for the fourth start in a row. Giants 2, Padres 1 (13 innings): Matt Duffy doubled in Conor Gillaspie with two outs in the bottom of the 13th inning, lifting San Francisco over Colorado. The win was the Giants' second in four extra-inning games this season and was their second straight over the Rockies after having lost the series opener 17-7. Colorado fell to 0-2 in extra innings. Cardinals 6, Pirates 4: Matt Carpenter cracked a game-winning, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as St. Louis beat Pittsburgh for its first victory in five attempts against the Pirates this season. Aledmys Diaz started the winning rally by beating out an infield single against A.J. Schugel. After Jeremy Hazelbaker's bid for a game-winning homer died at the wall in left center, Carpenter belted a 402-foot shot into the Cardinals' bullpen in right center for his fourth homer of the year. Cubs 8, Nationals 5: Addison Russell dropped a bases-loaded double down the right-field line for two go-ahead runs as Chicago went on to beat Washington and claim its eighth series win in nine tries. Russell broke the 5-5 tie with two out in the seventh inning of a see-saw game, sending Shawn Kelley's 2-2 pitch to right to score Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo for a 7-5 lead. The Cubs ran their winning streak to six and the Nationals suffered their third straight loss — all to Chicago. Royals 7, Indians 0: Ian Kennedy pitched seven scoreless innings and Kendrys Morales had two hits, including a home run and four RBIs, to lead Kansas City to its third win in its last 11 games. The loss snapped Cleveland's four-game winning streak. Kennedy gave up four hits and had six strikeouts and two walks. Phillis 4, Marlins 3: Cesar Hernandez went 2-for-4 and Odubel Herrera scored twice as Philadelphia defeated Miami. The Phillies rallied from a 3-1 deficit and scored three runs against two Marlins relievers in the eighth. Herrera's one-out single off Craig Breslow scored David Lough. Diamondbacks 4, Braves 2: It took a trip back to Atlanta to face his old team for Shelby Miller to finally get his first victory with Arizona. He allowed four hits over six innings and Brandon Drury had three hits for the Diamondbacks, including a tie-breaking RBI double in the sixth inning. Miller came in with a 8.49 ERA, but allowed just three runners over his final four innings after Freddie Freeman hit a first-inning homer. Yankees 8, Red Sox 2: Nathan Eovaldi pitched eight effective innings, holding David Ortiz hitless, and Didi Gregorius had a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning as New York beat Boston. Five days after allowing season highs of six runs and 10 hits in Fenway Park, Eovaldi allowed two runs and six hits, struck out six without a walk and threw 77 of 107 pitches for strikes. He faced Ortiz twice with the bases empty and once with a runner on first and retired the designated hitter each time. In other games it was: Rangers 10, Tigers 5; Athletics 8, Orioles 4 (Game 1); Orioles 5, Athletics 2 (Game 2); Mariners 3, Astros 2 (10 innings); Brewers 13, Reds 7 (10 innings); White Sox 7, Twins 2; Mets 6, Padres 3; Rays 4, Angels 2. — Agencies
