The two wings of the King
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 29 - 04 - 2016

Okaz, Editor in Chief
TWO days before the first anniversary of the appointment of Prince Muhammad Bin Naif as Crown Prince and Prince Muhammad Bin Salman as his deputy, the Kingdom announced its 2030 Vision, which will transfer the country to deep-water shores after it had solely depended on oil as the main source of income for the past eight decades.
The transition will lay down new building bricks and formulate a road map for development which will reduce the rate of unemployment, enable the Kingdom to face its various challenges and find new sources of income instead of waiting restlessly for the oil revenues to go up.
This is no doubt a good and daring step from a strong Kingdom and a decisive King. It also reflects the dedicated efforts of the Crown Prince and his deputy who are ambitious and influential in the Arab and world scene.
Since the very day of their appointment in these two high positions, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince were very well aware of the responsibility, which was put on their shoulders. They knew very well that their road was not paved with roses and flowers.
However, they both love challenges and love to overcome hurdles and difficulties. They are fond of change and progress built on an ambitious, clear and deep national vision, which will pave the road towards a bright future.
Under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Kingdom has succeeded in restoring the dignity of the Ummah. This has been done through two alliances, the first is an Arab for the restoration of legitimacy to Yemen (Decisive Storm) and the second is the 39-nation Islamic Alliance to combat terrorism.
The member countries of the Islamic Alliance have carried out military exercises under the name: "North Thunder" which attracted the world's attention and was the focus of media coverage for a long time.
The dependence of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on youth was a spectacular addition to modern Saudi history.
The establishment of the Council of Political and Security Affairs under the Crown Prince and the Council of Economic and Development Affairs under Deputy Crown Prince came as a confirmation of the Kingdom's intent to rid itself of the administrative floppiness and is a reflection of its determination to remove any hurdle that might impede its political advancement.
The two young men are the wings of the King. They have fully supported him since they have taken over their positions about 365 days ago.
April 29 is a date, which will long be engraved in the memory of the Saudi people. It is the date when the Crown Prince and his deputy were appointed to their positions.
This is the first time two grandchildren of King Abdul Aziz, the founder, are appointed Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince.
Today, they stand in one line with the Saudi people to write a new epic in the history of the Kingdom. They are determined to continue the path of a safe and stable Saudi Arabia. They are together building a bright future for the coming generations and are determined to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the citizens no matter how big they may be.
