Fight against terror to continue
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 14 - 01 - 2016

Under the wise and bold leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Saudi Arabia will continue its efforts to achieve peace, security and stability through a wise and fair policy and an effective confrontation of global terrorism, its perpetrators and supporters, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, said here on Wednesday.
In a speech on the first anniversary of King Salman's ascension to the throne, the Crown Prince said the King's firm stand has shown that the evil actions of terrorists are contrary to the teachings of Islam and genuine values.
He said Saudi Arabia has taken a proactive approach against the extremist ideology, the blatant intervention in the affairs of countries of the region and the infringement on the stability, security and development of the people.
The Crown Prince said the year has been full of achievements which point to a promising future for the citizens of the country.
The Kingdom has achieved unprecedented influence at the international level under the wise and visionary leadership of King Salman, the Saudi Press Agency quoted Crown Prince Muhammad as saying.
"The one year of this prosperous reign is the result of a pioneering experience in governance and administration supported by a leader of strong determination and will who works according to an approach based on the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh)," said the Crown Prince.
He said the King always strives to serve Islam, uphold the status of Muslims and upgrade the position of the country which is home to the Two Holy Mosques from where the message of Islam and peace was sent to the world.
Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, described the year under the leadership of King Salman as one of decisiveness and achievements.
He said that Royal Orders issued by the King as he assumed the leadership of the country have contributed to the restructuring of the State's agencies, particularly those of the Council of Ministers, and the replacement of many councils and committees with the Council of Political and Security Affairs and the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
King Salman's vision has promoted the status of the Kingdom globally. Saudi Arabia has become a destination for many world leaders, which confirms its global clout, said the Deputy Crown Prince in a speech on the occasion of the first anniversary of King Salman's ascension to the throne.
Under King Salman's leadership, the Kingdom took the bold decision to respond to the request of the president of Yemen to fight the perpetrators of a coup against that country's legitimate government, he said, adding that the King's resolve to fight terror was effectively reflected in the establishment of a 34-nation Islamic Military Alliance with its operations center in Riyadh.
"The government under King Salman's leadership set economic priorities and took the necessary initiatives to support various development projects, taking into account the effects of lower oil prices on the general budget and addressing them in a way which does not affect the needs of the country and its citizens," said Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad.
He said the Council of Economic and Development Affairs has taken measures to implement the King's directives, thus taking practical steps to restructure the Kingdom's economy to achieve development goals by diversifying income sources and reducing dependence on oil.
