Dortmund-Bayern Cup final set
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 04 - 2016

Borussia Dortmund beat Hertha Berlin 3-0 Wednesday to set up a German Cup final showdown with Bayern Munich May 21.
Gonzalo Castro opened the scoring in the 20th minute, firing from distance into the top right corner after Marco Reus' initial effort was blocked by a defender.
With Dortmund wasting a host of chances, Reus finally settled the issue with 15 minutes remaining, set up by Shinji Kagawa on a counterattack as Hertha was threatening a response.
Reus then set up Henrikh Mkhitaryan to round off the scoring in the 83rd.
Dortmund advanced to its third successive final — its eighth altogether — while Hertha had been bidding to reach its first since 1979.
Bayern defeated Werder Bremen 2-0 at home Tuesday to reach its 21st final.
Marseille beats Sochaux to reach League Cup final
Olympique de Marseille reached the French Cup final after Florian Thauvin's second-half strike gave the crisis-hit club a 1-0 win at Ligue 2 side Sochaux Wednesday.
Thauvin found the back of the net with a low shot across goal after being set up by Steven Fletcher to send OM, whose coach Michel was sacked Tuesday, into the final against bitter rival Paris St Germain on May 21 at the Stade de France.
PSG reached the French Cup final with a 1-0 win at Lorient Tuesday.
Wydad ousts champ Mazembe
Holder TP Mazembe Englebert of the Democratic Republic of Congo was eliminated from the African Champions League Wednesday after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wydad Casablanca.
The Moroccan club, coached by former Real Madrid manager John Toshack, was 2-0 up from the first leg earlier this month and went through to the group phase 3-1 on aggregate.
Mazembe defender Salif Coulibaly's goal midway through the first half halved the deficit but it could not find a second despite applying heavy pressure and was caught in stoppage time by a counter attack finished off by Reda Hajhouj.
Wydad is joined in the last eight by record winner Al-Ahly of Egypt, which advanced with a narrow win over Young Africans of Tanzania.
It went through with a last-minute goal from Abdallah El-Saed to secure a 3-2 aggregate triumph.
It will be joined in the group phase by former winner Enyimba of Nigeria, which needed penalties to advance, AS Vita Club from DR Congo and the 2014 champions Entente Setif of Algeria.
Zambia's Zesco United, Zamalek of Egypt and ASEC Abidjan from the Ivory Coast will also be in next month's draw.
The eight clubs will be divided into two groups of four with the top two finishers advancing to the semifinals later in the year.
