De Kock helps Delhi stun Bangalore in IPL
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 04 - 2016

Quinton De Kock stole the thunder through a stupendous knock of 108 off 51 balls to ensure a stunning seven-wicket win for Delhi Daredevils over star-studded Royall Challengers Bangalore in the IPL Sunday.
With Karun Nair, who hit an unbeaten 54 runs off 42 balls, De Kock put on 134 runs in 12.4 overs to chase Bangalore's 191 for 5.
De Kock and Nair hit 100 off 9.4 overs. De Kock raced to his century in 48 balls. He fell when Delhi needed just eight runs to win off 10 balls to Watson. Delhi won with five balls to spare.
Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers had earlier entertained their home ground crowd at the Chinnaswamy Stadium through a 107 runs partnership in 10.5 overs but their effort went in vain.
Kohli's hit 79 off 48 balls. De Villiers blasted 55 off 33 balls. Shane Watson hit 33 off 19 balls.
Brief scores: Delhi Daredevils 192 for 3 (De Kock 108, Nair 54*) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore 181 for 5 (Kohli 79, De Villiers 55, Shami 2-34) by 7 wickets.
Punjab downs Pune
Glenn Maxwell played a scintillating cameo hitting an unbeaten 32 off 14 balls to power Kings XI Punjab to a six-wicket win over Rising Pune Supergiants to notch up their first victory in the IPL in Mohali Sunday.
Chasing a target of 153, Kings XI Punjab were put in a spot as they slumped to 119 for 4 in the 17th over after a fluent opening stand of 97 between Manan Vohra (51) and Murali Vijay (53). But it was Maxwell who helped the team romp home in 18.4 overs as they won their first match in their third encounter.
Pune Supergiants have now lost two straight matches after having won their first game in Mumbai.
Brief Scores: Kings XI Punjab 153 for 4 (Vijay 53, Vohra 51, Maxwell 32*, M Ashwin 3-36) beat Rising Pune Supergiants 152 for 7 (du Plessis 67, Smith 38, Mohit 3-23) by six wickets.
