Indian expats urged to get machine-readable passports

The Indian Consulate has asked Indian nationals holding hand-written passports to submit their passport applications to outsourced agencies (Al-FIFA, Al-Tayyar, or VFS) irrespective of date of expiry to obtain machine-readable passports at the normal passport fee.
The Consulate also revealed that its quarterly newsletter, India News, provides information on consular services, labor issues, economic and commercial matters, tourism, education, and Haj.
Indian nationals interested in receiving the newsletter may send their mailing address or contact details to the Consulate on the following address: Consulate General of India, P.O. Box 952, Jeddah 21421;
