JEDDAH — Fath sits atop Saudi Basketball Federation League as the top six teams prepare for playoffs, which start on April 7. Fath ended the season with 14 wins and 4 defeats. It lost two of its last three games to Ohud and Ansar, winning only against Ittihad that helped it clinch the regular season title. Ittihad finished the season second with 13 wins and 5 losses. Ansar and Ohud sit 3rd and 4th, respectively, with 12 wins and 6 defeats. Ahli is 5th with 11 wins and 7 losses. Nasr finished 6th with 10 wins and 8 defeats. This year only the top six make the playoffs. Hilal finished 7th, Wehdah 8th, Al-Salam 9th, and Al-Arabi 10th. They are all out of the fray. This year's standout players were: Fath's Mohammed Al-Sagaf — Saudi point guard, Ittihad's Rashad Woods — import power forward, and 3-point shooter Saudi players Jabber Al-Kabri and Mohammed Hassan; Ohud's import Paul Davis; Ansar's import point guard and shooter Kiwi Gardner, and Saudi player Mazook. Ahli's import Larry Blair, point and shooting guard; Nasr's import guard Calvin Cager and Saudi Ayman Bilal; Hilal's import Iberhim Thomas and Al-Salam's import Antonio Haymon. All the import players mentioned above had 40-point games and averaged over 20 points a game.
