JEDDAH — Round one of the Saudi Professional Basketball Federation Championship ended last week with Ittihad holding onto first place. In its last game before the break Ittihad beat Ohud 72-62 to finish with ten wins and one loss. Ittihad's Jabber Al-Kabri and Mohammed Hassan scored 17 points each and Yaya Ibrahim hit 14. Ohud's Derrick Nelson was top scorer with 22 points and Mohammed Assad AbulJahad poured five three-pointers to finish with 15. Ansar, which finished in second place with a 10-1 record, routed Ahli 77-64. Ayman Bilal scored 26 and Terry Evans 22 for Ansar. Ahli's leading scorers were Nate Johnson 19 and Hassan 15. Wehdah beat Nahdah 68-62 to stay third with a 9-2 record. Fath downed Qadsiyah 82-73 to be fourth (8-3). Ohud is fifth (7-4). Hilal thrashed Jubail 109-54 to remain 6th (6-5). Nahdah is 7th and Ahli 8th, both with the same 5-6 record. The other positions were: Khalig (9th), Qadsiyah (10th), Nasser 11th and Jubail (12th). The League will resume on Feb. 28.
