Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 03 - 2016

"Altfouk Almarefi Al-Ahleyahh" Schools announced the launch of "Nun Academy" this September at a conference meeting at Hilton, Jeddah, in the presence of those who are interested in education, parents, and Peje Emilsson, chairman & CEO of "Kunskapsskolan Education", who also, participated in Jeddah Economic Forum.
"Nun Academy" is a new private international bilingual school, and it aims to provide a bilingual program that challenges the students to discover their full potential and prepare them for the best universities in the world, while still having them grounded in their religious, linguistic and cultural heritage.
Through its partnership with the Swedish Kunskapsskolan Education Group (KED) —that has a track record of operating 43 schools, 15,000 students, and 1,500 teachers on 3 continents — the academy became a part of this global network, and will set to be the first school in the Kingdom that will apply the (KED) program, a unique and modern teaching technique that puts the students at the center of all activities in the school, and prepare them for this globalized world by grounding them locally while exposing them globally, and encouraging them to be active members in their community.
"Nun" also offers highly competent and experienced tutors who will stimulate the students and encourage them to plan and invest their abilities into achieving their personal goals, therefore, enabling them to gain high academic results, while, building the students' characters by enhancing their communication and self-learning skills. It is worth mentioning that this program will support the students and teachers through the "Learning Portal", an online digital learning network, which provides them with an interactive learning environment that is affirming and respectful of individual interests and learning styles.
According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education to ensure fluency in Arabic in international schools, the curriculum was developed based on the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE), and adapted to concentrate on Arabic and religious subjects in early stages, and gradually increasing the focus on the English language in order to meet the requirements of the international exams, hence providing the students with a solid foundation for successful international college studies.
