Net-A-Porter recently launched a campaign with supermodel Karolina Kurkova, to boast their chosen star-studded collection. In a quest to become the final online shoe-destination, Net-A-Porter's campaign called ‘Dress from the feet up', was launched with a video starring Kurkova flaunting the chosen brands. Some of the best sellers include laser-cut leather platform sandals and mirrored-leather and mesh sandals from Nicholas Kirkwood, Valentino Tan-Go patent-leather pumps, horsebit-detailed leather Gucci loafers, pompom-embellished raffia Aquazzura sandals, metallic leather brogues by Simone Rocha, Gato metallic leather slides by Robert Clergerie and Yeah Baby leather-trimmed embroidered canvas Saint Laurent sneakers among many others. Saudi Gazette caught up with Ida Petersson, the buying manager for shoes at Net-A-Porter who is relieved that designers have finally moved away from minimalistic style and explored fashion in a fun way. She gives you an insight into the campaign and discusses her personal favorites from the selection. "There was so much offering for the spring summer shoe category this season. I loved the ‘Lazy shoe' – the kind of style that you can wear from day to night, is comfortable and still looks chic. This took the form of boots, slippers and loafers for Spring Summer. Gucci set the bar high with their loafers, which continue to be our bestseller. Other favorites of mine include Acne, Pierre Hardy, Jil Sander, No 21 and Dorateymur. The Pom Pom sandal was the ‘playful and fun' take on shoes this season. The go-to for this trend is Aquazzura, but Dolce&Gabbana's runway styles are also to die for. Come summer I will be living in my MK by Maria Maku pom pom sandals. A metallic shoe is also key to update your shoe closet this season – I am in love with Dorateymur's silver boot, and there are amazing choices from Tom Ford to Jimmy Choo. Finally, the block heel pump with a round toe, otherwise known as the ‘glove' shoe is one to watch. I loved this silhouette so much I bought both styles from Gucci and Gianvito Rossi. Overall I was very excited about the amount of texture and individuality that was shown for SS16; in previous seasons the trends have been very centered around minimalistic styles, so it was fun to see designers letting lose a bit," Petersson told Saudi Gazette.
