Bowlers and batsmen share honors in WPCA

JEDDAH — Al-Saudi XI crushed MCC, while Crown Steel had the last laugh against IDB in this week's action in the WPCA 35-over Premier Division here.
Al-Saudi XI humbled MCC by 9 wickets. MCC was bundled out for 112. Khawar Sohail was the top scorer with 39. Faisal added 22 and Ramazan 18. Fahad grabbed 2-25.
Al-Saudi XI reached 114 for 1 in 42 balls. Kamran Mushtaq stroked 14 and Fouad Shams hammered an unbeaten 68 in 19 balls (7 sixes and 4 fours). Mohsin hit 22.
Crown Steel trounced IDB by 7 wickets. IDB was bowled out for 201. Hashim Khan scored 22, Arif 17 and Rahat Ali 14. Ghulam Mustafa compiled 50 and Usman 41 as the two added 52. Javed Iqbal grabbed 4 for 26 and Waqas Ausaf 3 for 47.
Crown Steel needed only 140 balls to reach 206 for 3. Shafeeq Ahmed blasted 60 in 31 balls, while Khurram Karamat (39) retired hurt and Javed Iqbal added 18. Waqas Ausaf remained unbeaten on 55 as he added 53 with Shoaib Ali (17). Hashim Khan took 2-51.
Afternoon T20
APF, Maine Services, Fuchs Alhamarani, Zultrack, Harsco Baroom and Jotun Paints won their respective matches in the WPCA Afternoon T20 Tournament.
APF prevailed over Thales Group by 4 wickets. Thales Group, opting to bat first, started well with the openers Mustafa (66) and Azeem (54) putting on 110 in 48 balls. Siddique grabbed 5 for 30 and Abdulbasit 2-29.
APF took 94 balls to get to the winning target of 166 for 6. Gulzar smashed an unbeaten 70, Abdulbasit 31 and Usman 17. Yasir claimed 2-31, Waqas 2-22 and Hani 2-27.
Marine Services thrashed Awesome XI by 95 runs. Marine Services racked up 216 for 4, with Pervez Baig blasting 77 in 27 balls, Kashif 36 not out, Ahmed 49 and Moiz 34. Azhar took 2-41. Awesome XI was bowled out for 121. Khalil was the highest scorer with 37. Majed scalped 4-21, Pervez Baig 3-8 and Niyaz 2-20.
Fuchs Alhamrani defeated OMD Tuskers by 2 wickets. OMD Tuskers posted 135 for 9. Yashik Alangad notched 16, Khadiry 30 and Mahesh remained unbeaten on 44. Irfan took 2-17, Saqib 2-26 and Naser 2-32. Fuchs Alhamrani lost 8 wickets on way to scoring 137 in 107 balls. Nazaish hit 26 and Mansoor was run out for 72. Shafeeq bagged 2-23 and Yashik Alangad 2-34.
Zultrack downed Waqas Malik XI by 14 runs. Zultrack produced 129. Mohsin made 47 and Khadim 26. Waqas Malik took 3-16, Abid 2-17 and Tauseef 2-21. Waqas Malik XI was restricted to 115. Waqas Malik scored 20, Shahid 17, Abdulrazzaq 25 and Danish 17. Khalid Iqbal scalped 3-21 and Yousuf 2-26.
Harsco Baroom got the better of Azizya Elegant by 9 wickets. Azizya Elegant posted 136 for 5. Imran stroked 52 in 46 balls, Hamza 20 and Mohammed 15 both unbeaten. Azam grabbed 2-38. Harsco Baroom responded with 137 for 1 in 76 balls. Hasanat hit an unbeaten 79 in 41 balls and Imran Nasir 37.
Jotun Paints had the last laugh against Hyderabad Strikers by 9 wickets. Hyderabad Strikers could make only 137 for 8. Irfan hammered 53, Jaweed Ahmed 22 and Ibrahim 18. Wajid grabbed 3-28 and Shabbir 2-30. Jotun Paints scored 139 for 1 in 76 balls. Shafeeq Rafeeq remained unbeaten on 76, Sajid hit 29 and Sohail 22 not out.
