Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Defense and Chairman of Board of Directors of King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives, received Monday a citizen who handed over 200 historical documents about Jizan region. Abdul Fattah Bin Na'mi Al-Na'mi, who hails from Jizan, said, the documents were kept with his late grandfather. They would help further studies on the history of the Kingdom in general and the Jizan region in particular. “Everyone should cooperate to preserve all priceless historical sources because they help improve historical studies,” said Prince Salman. Prince Salman reiterated the historical importance of Jizan and the role of its people in contributing to building the modern Saudi state. He also lauded the initiative made by Al-Na'mi family and their keenness to preserve the history of Saudi Arabia. Prince Salman gave his directives to concerned authorities to preserve the documents in the King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives. On their part, Al-Na'mi family members praised the prominent role of Prince Salman in serving and supporting history and said that the King Abdul Aziz Foundation had become a pioneer scientific institution, thanks to Prince Salman's leadership.
