In addition, it would include areas such as legal advisories, lands and properties evaluation and auctions. Al-Ghamdi was speaking at the launch function of a new headquarters of the group which was attended by Eng. Khalid Aqeel, the deputy Mayor of Jeddah. Al-Ghamdi said his main focus lied on the development of the real estate market and the services to push the sector to new heights by improving investments and by building international partnerships. “We work on instilling common ethics and the commitment to morality, he said. “We look forward to providing world- class services to the real estate community to achieve a sustainable economic development.” He said loyalty, respect of privacy, commitment to quality and compliance with the local regulations are a key to success. “There is an urgent need to link all real estate offices in the Kingdom to the electronic “Shumoos” system associated with the National Information Center,” he said. “Through this system all the movements and transactions in the real estate sector can be registered which would ensure credibility of both the buyers and the tenants of residential and commercial units.” Abdul Aziz Al Azab, a member of the Group said that the Council of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce has completed the final version of the mortgage system launched by the Council recently. Dr. Muteaallah Al-Sulami, a Saudi businessman hoped the current regulatory steps would help in mounting the bonds between the judicial notary-ship and the real estate workers. Another businessman, Ahmad Al-Refaidi, said that the real estate sector in the Kingdom especially in Jeddah, is experiencing good changes — thanks to the plans of the Group and its cooperation with the Municipality and the notary-ship. “We are elated over this meeting where we can discuss our priorities,” he said. “We expect a modification in the system especially on the commercial streets and some new housing schemes.” __
