Six persons are arrested every hour in the Kingdom for involvement in drug-related issues, while authorities seize nearly 230,000 captagon tablets and about 82 kg of marijuana every day, an average of 130 pills and 19 cigarettes per minute. The secretary general of the National Commission for Drug Control, Abdullah Al-Sharif, said the Nibras program emphasized a community response to eliminate drugs through eight prevention programs that focus on the education sector with the aim of protecting students in public education or at universities from the risks of drugs. Al-Sharif said that the Kingdom had become a target for smugglers, with seizures occurring at all of the Kingdom's major borders. "Authorities in customs, border guards, public security, and the Drug Enforcement Directorate were able to arrest 105,000 accused involved in drug issues," he said. — SG
