Charl Schwartzel carded an excellent four-under par 66 Saturday to take a one shot lead ahead of the final day of the Tshwane Open in Pretoria. Home hope Schwartzel started the third round two strokes adrift of overnight leader Anthony Michael, but picked up a shot at the second before holing his eight foot eagle putt at the ninth to join Zander Lombard and Michael in a share of the lead at the turn. The 2011 Masters champion is now nine under overall, one better than compatriot Lombard, who hit a best-of-the-day 63 to catapult himself into contention. A bogey at the last took the shine slighty off the round for 31-year-old Schwartzel, who is aiming to win an eighth European Tour title on home soil after also taking a fourth Alfred Dunhill Championship crown earlier this season. Lombard, who finished second behind Haydn Porteous in the Joburg Open last month, managed five birdies and an eagle in a stunning bogey-free round to snatch a place in the final group Sunday. On a leaderboard dominated by home players, Porteous is three shots off the lead in a tie for third with Michael after signing for a 68. Thitiphun clinches Asian Tour title in Bangladesh Thailand's Thitiphun Chuayprakong clinched his maiden Asian Tour title when he carded four-under-par 67 in the final round to claim a two-shot victory at the $300,000 Bashundhara Bangladesh Open Saturday. The 23-year-old Thai, who went to the final round with a three-shot lead, kept his composure to hit five birdies against a lone bogey for a winning total of 21-under-par 263 at the Kurmitola Golf Club. Compatriot Sutijet Kooratanapisan mounted a late charge with five-under-par 66 to secure the second place, his best finish on the region's premier Tour. India's Shubhankar Sharma signed off with a splendid 65 to take the third place on his own on 270, while compatriot Chikkarangappa S. (73) shared fourth with Phachara Khongwatmai of Thailand (68) on 272. Sutijet, who was also bidding for a breakthrough win, tipped his hat to Thitiphun for being a deserving winner. Shakhawat Sohel emerged as the highest-placed Bangladeshi for the second consecutive year after closing a 68 to take sixth place on 273.
