Largest desalination plant arrives

A desalination plant that operates on the latest reverse osmosis technology arrived at Ras Al-Khair Port here Monday. The unit has been imported from one of the largest desalination plants in the world.
The plant was installed in the presence of Saleh Bin Ghurm Al-Zahrani, Director of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) branch in Ras Al-Khair. The production capacity of the unit is 20 million gallons per day. It is considered the largest manufactured unit in the world.
The plant is scheduled to go operational in the first quarter of 2013.
