Moa'alimi, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, delivered a message from King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, here Friday. The message includes the Kingdom's donation of $25 million to support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. The UN chief expressed deep thanks and gratitude to the Kingdom for its generous contribution to the fight against these diseases and its constant contributions to various United Nations programs designed to serve humanity and alleviate the suffering of those affected in various parts of the world. Ambassador Al-Moa'alimi stressed the Kingdom's role in support of United Nations programs aimed to help the needy and to provide humanitarian services to the needy based on its desire and the keenness of its leaders to react quickly to humanitarian assistance programs of the United Nations.
