Home Centre's 4th ‘Room Makeover' contest begins
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 01 - 2016

Home Centre, the largest home retailer in the Middle East, has announced the fourth edition of its much-anticipated ‘Room Makeover' contest. Teaming up with brand ambassador Nancy Ajram, Home Centre will give away room makeovers worth AED15,000 (or its equivalent) to 15 winners selected from six countries in the region – the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon.
Regarded as the "most awaited room makeover with Nancy Ajram", this season features a unique twist. Commencing yesterday (Jan. 17), this season will ask participants to share their thoughts with Nancy on why they deserve to win.
Nancy Ajram said: "People love the idea of winning a room makeover - especially at the beginning of a new year - as it represents a fresh start. Despite this being my first year of association with Home Centre, I've seen some beautiful creations as part of the brand's room makeovers in the previous cycles. Personally, for me it is the human aspect of the winners' stories that stand out – each of them is a truly deserving candidate. I am excited to see the entries that come in this year."
Médéric Payne, CEO, Home Centre, said: "Home Centre's Room Makeover is truly amongst the most eagerly awaited consumer-engagement platforms by a brand across the region. The campaign has enjoyed huge success over the past three cycles and we have had numerous requests to re-launch it year after year.
"For Home Centre, this is purely an opportunity to showcase our core strengths as a market leader in this niche segment and connect with our customers. We have the breadth across our collection to match any preference, and comprehensively deliver a room that meets every need. We don't link the Room Makeover with a minimum purchase or a sales promotion as we want it to be truly all-inclusive. We hope that the fourth cycle inspires people and gives them unique ideas for their own home, because that is the spirit that Home Centre embodies."
Participants can apply for the contest at any Home Centre store, or by logging on to the brand's website (www.homecentrestores.com/roommakeover), Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Homecentrestores), Twitter handle (www.twitter.com/askhomecentre) or Instagram account (www.instagram.com/homecentrestores).
Entries will remain open until Feb. 13, 2016 and all applicants will be rewarded with an e-voucher offering a 20 percent discount for purchases at Home Centre stores in their respective country.
Home Centre will reach out to the top 500 shortlisted participants and request them to share pictures of their room. These will be further narrowed down to the top 30 entries. After having reviewed these rooms, Home Centre's team of experts will select the top 15 winners, one of which will be selected through a vote on Home Centre's Facebook page. Voters will also be entitled to receiving a 20 per cent discount voucher which can be redeemed against purchases at Home Centre stores in their respective countries.
Room Makeovers for the 15 winners will be executed in March 2016 by a special team of visual merchandisers and designers from Home Centre, concluding the fourth cycle of the brand's most successful consumer activation. The team will pay special consideration to the individual preferences and personalities of the winners, to create a room which is best suited to their lifestyles. Each makeover will be pre-planned and implemented in a single day, to minimize the inconvenience to the winners.
The third cycle of Home Centre's Room Makeover attracted over 37,000 entries and the winners' journeys received over 200,000 views across the brand's social media platforms. To watch Home Centre's previous room makeovers, log on www.landmarkshops.com/homecentre/roommakeover
