Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal launched the new and updated Makkah Municipality portal here on Sunday. A source from the municipality said the updated portal will facilitate many services for the people of Makkah. "The portal is used by citizens, residents and municipality staff as well. It has information on the maps and projects of the province. It also has a documentation of all of the emir's visits in the province and the occasion of the visit," said the source. The source said the portal will also be a guide to users about the historic, social, economic and political significance of the province in Saudi Arabia. "Citizens can now ask for information, book appointments, report a death case and post their complaints and suggestions without physically visiting the municipality offices. Visitors of the portal can also read daily news about the municipality and its events and progress," said the source. The source also said visitors of the portal can also download and read the municipality's magazine and other publications. "The portal also has a guide to each procedure done such as a marriage proposal and the required documents for these services and procedures. The portal has the details for other things such as the administration of Haj and Umrah and the processes and procedures for them," said the source. The source added the municipality is not only an administrative government body, it is also a platform for the people, especially the youth, to contribute to the plans and projects of the government. "The portal also showcases information on the Committee for Youth Development, Makkah Excellency Prize, the municipal council's meeting minutes, Souq Okaz, Our Country, Our Responsibility Initiative and the Center for Developmental Integration," said the source. The source also said the municipality staff members are always happy to see citizens taking initiative and helping the municipality maintain its roles and responsibilities.
