MIDWAM Edutainment, a pioneer in the solutions of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), and Dar Al Hekma University will graduate the first group of the Saudi students who have completed the Certified Interactive Application Developer (CIAD) Program. The one-year program, to be launched in February 2016, was created by Eon Reality, a leader in interactive VR and AR, and adopted by Midwam under Dar Al Hekma's supervision. Midwam signed an agreement with Dar Al Hekma to launch the program in order to graduate students who are well-versed in application development and VR/AR platforms "Undoubtedly, signing this agreement with Dar Al Hekma gives the program local credibility. We want to give aspiring students a chance to enter the world of interactive application development and be first Saudi young men and women that venture into this field. It also aims to prepare a generation of Saudi young entrepreneurs capable of encountering the new economy's challenges, develop their skills and empower them," said Khalid Muawad, the co-founder and chief technology officer of Midwam. Dr. Suhair Al Qurashi, president of Dar Al Hekma University, said "We are happy with our cooperation with Midwam and we are sure that the program will attract more and more students in the future as edutainment is an international trend now. Young Saudis are capable of proving themselves and even be creative in this technological field." One of Midwam's goals is to bridge the gap in the shortage of Saudi application developers in the country. Fifty students were targeted in the program, which will help them carve out a promising career soon.
